May 7, 2012 Church History Tour (Cont)

We then traveled into Independence, Mo.
They call these limestone caves and underground city.
They mined out the limestone, and left these huge cavern's,
they now use those caverns as warehouse storage.  You can travel
into the tunnels, but you go in with the huge Semi trucks making
deliveries, I would not want to visit this spot when an earthquake hits.
It also had alot of exhaust fumes.  Enjoy the photo's.
I took them out of the vehicle window so some are blurrrrrrryyyyy.

Next stop the Temple lot, Independence Visitor Center,
For more photo's on both visit the post Independence Visitor Center.

  1. That is very interesting, there is an actual paved road through the cavern?
